Week of  November 12-15
Welcome to Third Grade!!!!
I am looking forward to a great year and I hope your child learns many new things! 
These are the topics I plan to cover this week:

 Spelling - no spelling this week
 Reading -   We will be reading  the fantasy story Prudy's Problem and How She Solved It by Carey Armstrong Ellis.

Social Studies -   The First Amendment in the Constitution will be our topic this week and we will complete our booklets. A quiz over the First Amendment will be on Friday. We will read and discuss a Scholastic News  story "This Dolphin is a Spy" .
Science -  We will  continue our unit on forests, learning about rainfall. The students will complete a paper started on Friday about penguins.

 Math -    .  We will continue our first chapter in our math books on multiplication. We will be working with factors 10 and 3. Students will practice using multiplication chart.

Language -  Common and proper nouns will be reviewed with a quiz on Tuesday .We will start learning about singular and plural nouns in class this week. We will learn cursive letters s, j, and p.

Book Orders will be sent out the first Friday of every month. You may order on-line using my code H47N8.

Public Library trips will occur on Tuesday afternoon the second week of the month.
